Cloudburst — Poem a Day — 10 November 2020

Posted on 2020-11-102020-11-27 by Elizabeth Bennefeld
July Floodwaters 2011

soft sunset colors
after swollen clouds and rain
winds fade and die
rivers overflow their banks
trees are mirrored in the streets

Poem a Day – 6 November 2020

Posted on 2020-11-06 by Elizabeth Bennefeld
In Momentary Silence

meadowlarks gone quiet
black storm clouds block all sunlight
rain fells the long grass

bare moments without a sound…
the explosion of the winds
